Wow, I’ve always wanted to write a blog income report! Here’s the truth: I’ve been around the blogging world for a long time, but it was always just for fun—a creative outlet rather than a business. At some point, I put blogging on pause to dive deep into marketing, and that’s when I decided to start a Pinterest Marketing business. Blog Income Report: The Numbers (They’re Small, but They’re Real!)
Let’s be real, this isn’t one of those six-figure blog income reports. But as a brand-new blog, I’m pretty happy with the foundation I’m building. Here’s what my first month looked like:
- Affiliate Income: $32
- Monthly Sessions: 61
- Pinterest Outbound Clicks: 57
Not huge numbers, but here’s the thing: making any income from a brand-new blog is such a win! It means that people are already finding my content useful, and a few of them even clicked through to check out the products I recommended. Plus, with Pinterest sending over those clicks, I know the strategy is starting to pay off.
A Few Wins—and Where I’ll Make Tweaks
Let’s dive into what worked (and what could use a little more love next month):
Affiliate Income
Seeing that $32 come in felt like the first little reward for all the setup and content work! I didn’t push too hard on affiliates this month; I just recommended a few products that I genuinely love and knew would help other moms. It’s nice to see that with a little more traffic, this could really grow. Now usually people share money that they have deposited in their bank, but since this is month one, I haven’t actually gotten paid yet. Here’s my screenshot though!
Pinterest as a Traffic Source
Pinterest is such a great fit for bloggers, especially if you’re like me and prefer social media optional. I created a few pins for each blog post, experimenting with keywords and styles, and it paid off with 57 outbound clicks. And here’s the best part—these pins keep working for me long after I post them. No need to update stories or manage feeds; I just pin once, and Pinterest takes it from there. Next month, I’ll add more pins and keep testing what designs and keywords work best to drive even more traffic.
Content and Posting Rhythm
Right now, I’m keeping the focus on creating helpful, quality content over cranking out tons of posts. With a few solid posts up, I’m starting to see what people respond to most. Weirdly enough? My top blog post right now is a round up of soup recipes lol. And it’s exciting to think that as I add more posts, each one will add a little more to the traffic and income totals.
The Real Mom-Life Blogging Juggle
Blogging as a mom means working in those quiet pockets of the day and sometimes feeling like you’re doing a hundred things at once. Some days, I feel like I’m inching forward, but every click and every reader reminds me it’s all building toward something bigger. It’s so easy to compare ourselves to established bloggers with tons of content, but it’s those small steps each day that create the momentum. And honestly, not being tied to traditional social media has been freeing. Pinterest lets me focus on blogging while still connecting with my audience in a more relaxed, sustainable way.
My Goals for Next Month
So, what’s up next? Here are a few goals I’m setting for myself to keep the momentum going:
- Increase Sessions by 50% (or more): I’d love to see 120+ sessions next month. It feels like a nice little step up from where I am now, and since Pinterest is already performing well and I’m locked in on my strategy, I think this is realistic.
- Create More Pins: I’ll try out some new designs and see which ones catch people’s eyes. Pinterest has been awesome so far, so I want to keep growing there!
- Write 4 (or more) New Blog Posts: Aiming to keep that quality content coming. If I can find ways to bring value and make life easier for moms, I’m all in.
- Get a couple of email subscribers! I would love to start sending biweekly round ups of things I’m loving and honestly just connect with readers/supporters since I don’t use social media.
